Caltagirone was one of the places in Sicily that we decided to visit a bit on the go. There we climbed up to the popular Santa Maria del Monte staircase, connected to the city’s centuries-old livelihood – pottery production. We also tried the typical cannoli sweets of the region.

Randazzo (pronounced with the accent on the second “a”) is a quiet and peaceful town on the island of Sicily, located at the northern foot of the Etna volcano. It is located at 765 m above sea level in the valley of the Alcantara River and is a strategic crossroads between the provinces of Catania, Messina and Enna. In the past, the city has suffered damage and destruction several times as a result of earthquakes and lava flows. For the most part, the streets and buildings of the city are built of blocks of volcanic rock.
Messina was our first stop on the fifth day of our trip around Sicily. My first impression of the city was the port and a huge cruise ship docked there. I later read that Messina is a must-see destination for cruise ships carrying tourists around the Mediterranean. My second impression was how difficult it is to find parking spaces in the city center. The third thing was the hilly location of the city and the large difference in altitude between the coast and the more inland neighborhoods.
The Boboli Gardens (Giardino di Boboli) are located on the hill of the same name in Florence on the left bank of the Arno River. They form an integral part of the magnificent Palazzo Pitti complex, once owned by the Medici family, and span an impressive 450,000 square meters (111 acres).
About 15 years ago I visited Spain for the first time and it captured a part of my heart. I really like it – people, weather, sights, infrastructure. Since then, more visits to different parts of the country followed, which confirmed my good impressions. During most of our time in Spain, we rented a car to explore as many places as we could. We spent the longest stretch – four full days – in Madrid, and for good reason – Madrid is worth visiting.
Bologna is the city of arches, of many preserved medieval gates and of the oldest operating university in Europe. The article below is devoted to the most interesting things to see in Bologna. We saw them all during our two-day stay in the city. We visited it at the end of last November. It was still autumn there, the leaves of the deciduous trees and bushes were bright yellow. At the same time, preparations for Christmas in the form of festive decorations had already begun. Apart from these colors, we happened to have very cold and gray weather. However, it did not prevent us from visiting everything we had planned.
Travelling for business in Spain can be productive. It can act as the stepping stone for expanding connections and establishing a foothold in one of the continent’s largest economies. This especially applies when travelling to a leading event such as CPhI Worldwide. But, as the old saying goes: “All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy.” But, with hundreds of inspirational locations to choose from, which should you consider visiting? Here are some sites which are well-worth visiting when travelling for business in Spain:
From the enchanting atmosphere of Ibiza, to the bustling beaches of Barcelona, there’s so much to enjoy about the jewel in the crown of the Iberian Peninsula. Spain has become Europe’s worst kept travel secret, with millions of tourists descending on these shores year in, year out.
With so many people picking Spain as a holiday destination, we’ve come to learn a lot about this beautiful country over the years. By now, we’re all familiar with their tomato-tossing traditions, and their shrewd love of siestas. But did you know these three unique facts about Spain?
Polignano a Mare is а romantic remarkable place on the Adriatic coast in Southern Italy that is worth to visit. The town, I must admit, was not among our top priorities when we spent time in Puglia in May. We had put it in the “just in case we have time” list. Well, I’m glad we had enough time to go there and got a sense of its spirit. Now in retrospect, I think that we had underestimated the town, but it was so worth visiting it – because of the beautiful sea views, the small quaint beach and the curious historic center with white buildings.
Bari, Italy, is a charming seaside town with a massive castle, an interesting historical center, two cathedrals and a lot of colors – ink blue from the sea, light blue from the azure sky, predominantly white and pale yellow in buildings and bright shades along the old streets.
